Observations from the Lab for February 2024

With updates from Greyson JS, moth_OS, and the Progressive Polka Project, GoatVision Labs is coming at you for the third month in a row; it’s Observations from the Lab!!

To start, we have our first update of the year from Greyson JS, who shared a new song called Low Tide on January 31. He has this to say about the track:

“This short song is an evocative trip to an ocean of keys in melancholy harmony, where a melody soars like gulls on drafts, and spacious drums slowly lap and batter the shoreline.”

The song is available on Bandcamp, streaming, and via YouTube visualizer. You can also expect another instrumental from Greyson JS by the end of this month!

Next is a new track from moth_OS, which released on February 2 and apparently precedes the band’s third EP. The track, nite shift, features a human/vocaloid duet set to a metallic wash of stretching, breathing percussion. nite shift is available on Bandcamp and streaming.

Last up for this month, the Progressive Polka Project’s new album is finally here! Polka, Pizzazz, and Polkas was released January 19 to widespread critical acclaim from fans and brands alike. The 12-track album features unprecedented syntheses between a wide range of genres executed with miraculous clarity. Listen on Bandcamp, streaming, and via YouTube visualizer! While you’re at it, consider preordering the extremely limited cassette tape edition, which releases 4.19.24 and is set to feature four as-of-yet unheard bonus tracks.

As I close out this month’s Observations, I’d like to take a moment to tease our Audience and say that The Goat Wizard is conducting a large and important experiment this month . . . keep your eyes on relevant spaces to stay up to date with that. Thanks for reading Observations from the Lab for February 2024, and be sure to follow us here and on TWITTER so you’ll know right away about new experiments.
